Had a leak in my Samsung washing machine. Tested the machine and quickly found the leak. The part, which has to be ordered, is easy to install. Rather than push the installation on me he suggested I could save money and do it myself. I really appreciated that and have ordered the part and will install myself. Yes — downdraft models are the most common Jenn-Air cooktop we see. Weak or noisy downdraft suction is usually the blower motor or its capacitor; a downdraft that won’t rise or retract on the pop-up models is normally the lift motor or a switch. Both are single-visit repairs on most units.
My Jenn-Air gas cooktop keeps clicking but won’t light — what is it?
Constant clicking means the spark module is firing but a burner isn’t igniting or the module can’t tell it has. A wet or cracked igniter, a mis-seated burner cap, or a failing spark module are the usual causes. Stop using the burner and call us; unburned gas around a clicking igniter is not something to wait on.
Can you fix a Jenn-Air induction cooktop that won’t detect the pan?
Usually. If every zone stops recognizing cookware, the power or control board is the likely fault; if only one zone fails, it’s that zone’s coil or sensor. Make sure the pan is induction-compatible first (a magnet should stick to the base) — if it is and the cooktop still shows the pan-detection error, book a visit.

Jenn-Air’s signature downdraft depends on a blower motor in the base cabinet. Weak suction, a rattle, or a burning smell from the vent almost always means the motor or its start capacitor; a filter packed with grease makes it worse. We replace the motor and clean the duct path in one visit.
Gas Burner Clicks but Won’t Light
A burner that clicks endlessly, lights only sometimes, or lights then goes out points to a wet or cracked igniter, a dirty burner cap, a spark module or a failing gas valve. We test each burner’s spark and flame sensing and replace only the part that has failed.
Induction Zone Dead or Pan Not Detected
If one zone stops working the coil or its sensor has failed; if the whole surface stops detecting pans, it’s the power board or main control. Jenn-Air induction “F” codes on the display tell us which — have the code ready when you call.
Radiant Element Won’t Heat or Runs Full Blast
On electric radiant models a dead zone is usually the element or the limiter switch beneath it. An element that stays on high regardless of the setting is a stuck infinite switch or a control-board relay — turn the breaker off and call us; that one is a burn hazard.
Touch Controls Dead, Locked or Erratic
Touch-glass controls that stop responding, respond to the wrong zone, or show a control-lock that won’t clear are typically the user-interface board or a moisture issue under the glass. We also check for a cracked cooktop glass, which has to be replaced before the controls will behave.
